The last record Of the Mohicani

Maureen Blatt tells us in "The last record of the Mohicans " (ed. Castelvecchi, 15 €) close encounters with customers, loyal and casual, the record store which is a partner, none other than the Backdoor of Turin. The beauty of the book is that it is ruthless and loving together: people are told through the neuroses, obsessions, nightmares, frustrations, delusions, phrases uttered without premeditation and so unforgettable. All with the excuse of vinyl. This is not a book about the discs. It is a book of stories, each with its own atmosphere and its own soundtrack, in fact each packed inside a cardboard cover different thirty thirty, sometimes even incellofanata very often recovered from the special offers box resting on the floor and then cover with poor condition, held together with tape, vinyl jumping and fries. The Misadventures of each customer's Backdoor not the hook for derision, as the excuse for a big hug that makes them feel less alone, for a genuine laugh that is able to dissolve the bitterness even for a short time in brackets .
A population of bankrupts who share the search through the shelves and rampant bank with unlikely dj. Come to think there is nothing to laugh about, yet more and you imagine the faces and situations and makes you laugh if you like me to attend any used record store, you will certainly found in one of these meetings. All familiar figures, even if you've seen before and magazines do not know their names, each a small mirror in which to identify it without shame. Since the matter and the ability of the author out there, there is much to hope for a sequel. The book is well distributed and readily available in bookstores. Advertisement finals: if you happen to travel to Turin or other, take an hour and visit the store (ask about it on http://www.backdoor.torino.it).

Crass History

The essential public ShaKe the Italian translation of the book and pretty well made Crass by George Berger published four years ago (and the English version. Omnibus, readily available on the web an average of 5-10 pounds plus shipping, and the Italian version. ShaKe , 17 € in libraries, but there is a appetizing discount if ordered directly http://www.shake.it). It is clear that those who know English is already equipped since 2006, is equally clear that those that know English not so well or do not know it at all will find this an interesting book, made with some care and dedication, if you are attracted by anarcopunk but for age reasons or for other reasons your have not lived through the eighties, around you will hardly find anything better.

Unlike the punk bands who were their contemporaries, who were satisfied with the sharing of cake and revival, Crass gave the music a radical change: they short-circuit the stage, practice self totally and uncompromissory and lit bonfires in the ass anarchy. The book recounts the circumstances, the attempts, the bravado, big business, success and all the beauty of those years. Scazzi remain well in the shade, the contrast, the deteriorating of the stories and, inevitably, comes the unthinkable of recent times. But luckily there is now the web, those who are curious and want to update you stood in front of a PC and is unleashed.
