The 1974 closes with no 34 (December 1974) with a cover devoted to Spain. Inside, a long interview with a young anarchist Barcelona, 23, escaped arrest and fled abroad. This is the first of a consistent set of covers that in the decade between the mid-'70s and '80s, put at the center of Spain, during the transition from Francoism and democracy. Upstream of this attention, there are reasons both historical and current events.
Among the first, had a key role the enduring memory of the legendary Spanish Revolution of '36-'37, which has developed between many contradictions in the midst of real war between the forces of Generalissimo Francisco Franco and catholic the diverse anti-fascist front. Those events saw, among other things, large and enthusiastic participation of the Italian anti-fascists - including many anarchists were - excited to be able to fight fascism in the field that seemed to (almost) unassailable at home.
