Issue 348 is the second with an increased
number of pages. Two subjects on the cover: one highlighting
the 12-page selection of works by Pierre-Joseph Proudhon,
the other a fake cigarette packet (the “security
pack”) with the health warning: “draft bill
733 damages you and those around you”. This is
a reference to articles, accompanied by an extensive
photo reportage, by Maria Matteo, by Simone Bisacca
and by Gaia Raimondi on the government’s new security
package which involves the detention of “illegals”
in CIEs, Centres of Identification and Expulsion.
Andrea Papi writes on Berlusconi, and the mystery of
why he is so popular; Carlo Oliva also discusses the
dear president and his associations with D’Annunzio,
Nietzsche and ... James Bond!
Cosimo Scarinzi, National Secretary of the CUB Scuola,
the Unitarian Rank and File Confederation for Schools,
writes on the current demoralising situation in schools
and their unions.
Antonio Cardella takes on the thorny issue of Afghanistan,
Obama and Karzai. Marco Gastoni writes a thoughtful
piece on anarchists and participatory economics.
Two great friends of “A” are remembered
in this issue: Luigi Veronelli by sports journalist
Gianni Mura, and Fabrizio De André by Teresa
Sarti
In musica&idee, Marco Pandin looks
at the music of Jerrinez. In ...e compagnia
cantante Alessio Lega chats to Marco Rovelli.
And still with music, Stefano Casi presents the songs
of Fausto Rossi, and Alessandro Scuro looks back on
a historic concert 40 years ago at the Olympia by Paco
Ibañez.

and Study Centres) held in Pisa.

In this issue Felice Accame’s à
nous la liberté is a peripatetic consideration
of male and female gender roles structured around “L’ora
delle ragazze alfa” by Valeria Palumbo.
37 anni fa looks at issue 17 of December 1972-January
1973, which included the calendar of Anarchik. More
history considered in this issue, as Massimo Ortalli
presents a letter written to anarchist magazine “Umanita’
Nova” in January 1947, an open letter to the Prefetto,
the Provincial Governor of Reggio Calabria, protesting
at his banning of an anarchist conference so as not
to disrupt “public order”.
Letters this month from Corrado Olivotto, on voting,
to which Andrea Papi replies, and another by Daniele
Ferro, recommending the book “About Anarchism”
by Nicolas Walter.
